Designed for children ages 4 through 7, the St. Cecilia choir, directed by Lacey Barnes, is an introductory musical ensemble in the Choir School of Macon.
Children in this group will learn fundamentals of music through Kodaly-inspired instruction with folk songs, and singing games. Children will also learn the basics of how to read music covering elementary rhythm, and basic solfege.
Children in this ensemble sing a wide range of repertoire from many different styles, and languages both sacred and secular. The St. Cecilia Choir gives occasional performances at Christ Church Macon, highlighting the work they do throughout the year.
Children in the St. Cecilia Choir learn skills such as confidence, what it means to be part of a team, and how to have fun through music!
